Dear Parents and Racers,
Motor sport is an expensive sport. Go kart is starting point of Motor sport. Just to buy a good brand new go-kart with an engine and tires will costs you US$ 7,000 to 10,000. One day practice at any tracks will cost you average US$ 100 which is excluding spare parts. We give you a general guide line and sincere advice what you should need to do to become a professional driver or racer. It is important to set a "TARGET" what do you want to become in Motor sport but just not wasting your time and tires and fuel without clear ambition. There are many things that we need to learnt from experienced racers and race teams like Formula BMW, GP 3, etc. No, doubt that talent and investment (sponsorships) are key to become a world's class professional racer. Following are some investments and advice and steps to follow. Chance to become a Formula 1 Driver is very difficult and very expensive because it needs a lot of finance just to get to the GP2 series. F1 teams only select top drivers who finish GP2 in Europe. That is also a reason that there is no successful Asian F1 Drivers so far. Even New Asian team, Force India and Lotus hire European Drivers. There are few F1 drivers from Japan, India and Malaysia but they still need a long way to get points and to reach podiums. If they do not achieve anything in coming 2 to 3 years time then then they will become old. All time and money that they invested will not be paid properly up. To become a champion is combination of yourself, your team, your car, strategy, etc. Of course also luck and how much your country gives support to you and Motor sport. If your own country has no F1 team and no F1 race track, no "rich sponsors" then it is more difficult to become a F1 Driver. However, there are chance and opportunity to become a successful Touring or Rally Drivers who are also highly paid by their teams and sponsors. It is recommendable that while trying to become a racer you must try simultaneously to get a college or university degree as a back-up for your future and survival in case you are not successful in your racing career. If it is only a hobby without any "TARGET" then go ahead as long as you afford. If racing and motor sport is truly in your blood and you posses very strong desire to become a successful racer and you have wealthy parents then please set clear target from very beginning. We will be glad to guide you honestly. Again. this is our personal sincere view and advice.
